Loukas, my friend and soulmate

I will never forget my last holiday. Not only because we were kitesurfing every day, ate amazing Greek food and enjoyed each others company, but because I’ve met an incredible friend and a soulmate named Loukas.

I met him 30 minutes after we landed on Rhodes island. My daughter and I took a taxi to the kitesurfing center where we were greeted by a man who looked a little bit older than he really was.

He was our host and the owner of extraordinary boutique bungalows, surrounded by fruit trees, palms, herbs, bushes, and roses. He showed us our bungalow and we very impressed. It was very picturesque. It was decorated with his paintings and sculptures, plants, stones, and a built-in bed.

There were lots and lots of mirrors that make the room look bigger.

We fell in love with the bungalow and we really wanted to take a shower after a long journey. However, Loukas invited us for an orange cake and we went to the garden with him. We started talking and after 3 hours time wasn't relevant anymore. Talking to Loukas was so amazing, sweet and simple. I had a feeling that I was talking to my old friend.

After 3 hours I laughed and finally said, "We have to save some of the topics for the next 14 days ..."

And this is how I started to get to know this incredible man with plenty of life experiences.

He was telling me his stories over breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

We had a lot of things in common. We agreed that it's important to follow out calling and that every person creates the life they want.

Although there was an age gap between us, I realized that I found my soulmate - a friend with a similar.

Loukas is a bohemian, artistic and a very gentle soul. He's got a big heart. He is an interior designer. He designs hotels, palaces, galleries, coffee shops, flats... His work is exceptional, unique and very colorful. He always includes greek tradition and his personal style into his work. He perfectly combines old pieces with modern architecture.

He puts his heart and his amazing greek temperament into his work.

He had a very interesting personal life as well. He was engaged 11 times and married 3 times. He is divorced and he has a daughter that he rarely sees but often talks about.

His first wife was Swedish, his second was Swiss and his third wife Suzzane was German.

He talks about her the most. They spend many beautiful and passionate moments together.

Based on his temperament, passion and looks I would say that lots and lots of women couldn't resist his charm.

He looks different than most Greeks. He's got light skin, blondish hair and blue eyes. He knows how to flatter women. He makes them feel that they are the most important thing in the world - even if it's just for a little while.

Time is not important for Loukas anymore. He's got enough time now to think about his past experiences. He's got two dogs - Mr. Loukas and Me. Plouton. Whenever he talks about animals he calls them Mister.

We also met two frogs on his garden - Mr. George and his cousin Mr. Nikos.

I started talking like him as well because I have found myself in his words and stories.

We got along so well because we agreed on what's important in life. We had endless conversations about how we create our own lives. We had many discussions about our parents. We didn't choose them and it's up to us to live a full life and not stress about things that aren't important.

I also have to compliment his amazing cooking talent. He pampered us with seafood, greek food and other specialties. Food was always great. We also had Suma (Sumica), a traditional Greek drink made from figs.

Sumica has a special place in Loukas' heart. He offers a glass to everyone who visits him and it's disrespectful if you don't drink it.

The most interesting thing is that instead of "Cheers," he says "Merry Christmas."

Why? Because he is convinced that people should live every day like it's Christmas. We should be joyful and kind to each other every day. And we should celebrate every day like it's our last.

I completely agree, so, 'Merry Christmas Loukas, my friend."

And see you soon.
